Facebook for Android updated to 1.9.7

Facebook for Android has received a new update bringing version number 1.9.7 to the app .This update brings some minor but useful changes to the highly popular application.

The new update brings ability to use the front camera of your Android device and also brings other additions like ability to see who is online and switching between messages is easier now.You can now also share bigger photos with your friends


The new update is only available for devices above Android 2.2 and if you use a device running an Android version 2.1 or below You wont be able to download the update

Facebook to launch its own Phone by next year

Popular social network, Facebook has decided to come up with its own smartphone before next year . Many phones come with a dedicated Facebook button while many more come with a deep Facebook integration but a smartphone from the company itself is yet to be seen and is highly anticipated.

We heard of similar projects last year but they were thrown into trash. and now as the rumours quote The project is back again and the Company has again partnered with HTC to make the Phone. We saw the two phones from HTC Chacha and Salsa with deep Facebook integration and Dedicated Facebook button but they were not quite popular among the users.

As we heard the company has hired former engineers form Apple to do this project .and as HTC is involved we might see an Android phone

Facebook for Blackberry updated to 3.0 brings deep BBM integration

Facebook for BlackBerry has been updated to version 3.0.0.15 that brings new features such as integrated BlackBerry Messenger that allows users to automatically share their Facebook status with their BBM friends right from within the app. The beta version was launched in February.

New features in Facebook for BlackBerry v3.0 

• BBM integration lets you share your latest Facebook status and location check-in as your BBM Personal Message
• Now you can add your location, tag a friend, upload a photo with status updates with new publisher
• Share with BBM Contact
• UI Discoverability Improvements to filter new feed
• Improved Facebook message notifications based on custom frequency

RIM has also announced list of apps with BBM integration such as BlackBerry Travel v2.5, BlackBerry App World v3.1.2, BBM Music v2.1 and BBM v6.2 would be available for download over the next 10 days. Twitter for BlackBerry v3.0 with BBM integration was available last week. Some apps would be available in select countries only.
