Nokia has updated their highly popular Navigation service Nokia Drive,The Nokia Drive service offers offline Satellite navigation across various regions in the world. The service is free for all Lumia users and will be a part of Windows Phone 8`s core navigation services for all Windows Phone 8 device

The Nokia Commute service will be US only initially ,While the other additions will be made globally .

The features like day and night mode switching is comming to the app along with more feature rich Live Tiles. These live tiles will be updated with the new Start Screen of Windows 7.8

Nokia Lumia to be available in Pink starting July 15

Nokia have unveiled a new colour for their latest Windows Phone flagship Nokia Lumia 900 for AT&T `s LTE network which offers massive internet speeds of over 40Mbps.

Sadly the device wont be getting some Windows Phone 8 love but the device will be geeting Windows Phone 7.8 which brings the all new revamped start screen to the Phone

Nokia announces Job cuts and factory closings

Nokia has announced that it will be undergoing Job cuts and factory closures to save itself from the ongoing crisis it has been undergoing . To overcome this Nokia has decided to perform 10,000 strong global job cuts .Out of which 3,700 of the total will be from the Homeland of the Company ,Finland
We heard Earlier that Salo will lose 1000 jobs but all this sudden change is due to the latest Financial reports of the company which report huge losses

Besides this Nokia also plans to shut down facilities in Salo, Ulm and Burnaby to prevent itself from being sold off .The Finns will also sell off their luxury phone brand, Vertu, to a Sweden based private equity firm EQT VI.
The cost reduction techniques are a try by the Finns to get back the company back into profit .

Nokia to launch 808 Pureview on 13th June

Nokia has dropped in an Invitation  regarding an event to be held on 13Th June 2012 . The event will be will be presided over by Nokia India’s head of smart devices, Vipul Mehrotra, and Dolby Labs India country manager Pankaj Kedia.


Seeing the Nokia and Dolby logos we can expect some Pureview action here. Earlier Nokia launched a countdown timer on their site according to which the phone was scheduled to launch on 6th Une 2012 but that did not happen and now we saw the invite which is scheduled for 13th June...


The price for the Nokia 808 Pureview was leaked to be Rs, 29,999 INR and The official Camera Samples from The Nokia India Team are also available for viewing.

Nokia world preponed to September 5-6,gets a new format too

Nokia has annouunced through their conversations blog that the schedule and location for the annual Nokia world event has been slightly changed. The event will now be held on September 5-6 2012 in Helsinki (Finland) Nokia`s homeland ,Instead of the previously announced on September 25-26 in London.


There will be a change4 in the event`s format too , From this year the event will be organised on a small scale instead of the yearly Mega event thus making the event an Intimate experience .

The event will be invite only and will cater primarily to operators and retail partners.Stay tuned as we bring you more news from Nokia.

Nokia launched two new feature phones today Nokia 110 and 112 on its mission to connect the next billion to the internet.Both phones come with Dual SIM capabilities with Nokia’s unique Easy Swap technology allowing for a fast switch without opening up the phone.The phones remember personalisation details from up to five different SIM cards.Single SIM varieties of the Nokia 110 – dubbed the Nokia 111 (which is also quad-band) and Nokia 113 – will also be available in some countries.

Nokia Asha 202 Dual SIM phone launched in India for Rs. 4,149

Nokia has launched the Asha 202, Dual SIM phone in India that was announced at MWC 2012. It comes with 100 MB free data plan per SIM card for 6 months from leading operators Aircel, Airtel, Reliance, Tata Docomo and Vodafone, 40 EA games-pack worth Rs 4000 and Nimbuzz app. It is the first Series 40 device to come with exclusive EA games in India. Some of the games include, Tetris, Need for Speed, The Run and Bejeweled that would be available for free as a 60-day promotion at Nokia Store.


It has 2.4-inch (240 x 320 pixels) resistive touch screen display and T9 keyboard. It has Dual SIM Easy Swap technology with dedicated SIM manager to personalize the phone and save up to five SIM cards with unique information.


It has 2MP camera, music player, 3.5mm AV connector, FM radio with FM Recording, Nokia Browser, and Bluetooth 2.1, and has expandable memory of up to 32GB. It comes with 1020mAh Li-Ion battery.

Nokia to sell-off its luxury phone brand Vertu

At the end of last year, Nokia was reportedly looking into selling Vertu to raise funds and help focus the company, which is still in transition. Now, the Financial Times says that the deal is nearing completion.
The purported buyer is Permira, a British private equity group, who are reportedly willing to shell out €200 million ($265 million) for the luxury phone maker. Neither Vertu nor Permira have confirmed the deal.
Another equity group, EQT, are also said to have been interested in Vertu, but according to the Financial Times these negotiations aren't going anywhere.
If you were hoping for a WP-powered Vertu phone, this is probably not good news. But considering the precious metal plated phones mostly ran S40 (aside a couple of Symbians), the luxury niche of Vertu doesn't really mesh very уевв with Nokia's micro&soft strategy.

Nokia Lumia 610 starts rolling out in Asia

Nokia Lumia 610, Nokia’s affordable Windows Phone device is finally on sale in Asia starting from Philippines. The Lumia 610 was announced at the MWC 2012 and packs in 3.7-inch LCD Display and is powered by 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor.


It runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS and has 5MP camera with LED flash, 256MB RAM, 8GB internal memory, FM Radio and 1300 mAh battery.and als has WiFi Sharing feature 



The Nokia Lumia 610 is now available in black, cyan, magenta and white colors in select Nokia Stores and retail outlets in Philippines for 11,000 Philippine Pesos (~ US$ 259).


It  would go on sale in other parts of Asia including China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam in the coming weeks. India is not in the list but it is expected to be available within this quarter

Nokia Asha 302, QWERTY phone is now available in India from online retailer Flipkart. It was announced at MWC 2012 in February and comes with 2.4-inch (320 x 240 pixels) LCD display, 1 GHz processor and runs on Series 40 (S40) OS. It has 3.2 megapixel Full Focus camera with 4 x digital zoom. It has 3G support and comes with Whatsapp, Facebook Chat and other popular social networking apps. It has metallic keys and real metal touch points all around the phone.

Other features include, Music player, enhanced stereo FM radio with RDS. The connectivity features include, 3G (HSPA 14.4 Mbps

Nokia Lumia 900 costs just $209 to produce

The materials for Nokia’s flagship and blockbuster Lumia 900 cost $209, according to iSuppli’s preliminary teardown assessment.

That, iSuppli reckons, is a result of the Lumia 900′s cost-reduced design and the close cooperation between Microsoft, Qualcomm and Nokia, which mimics Apple’s approach to device development.



Including the manufacturing cost, the Lumia 900′s total cost rises to $217. This is a significantly lower than the $243.50 that the similarly-spec’d Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket costs to make.


And if you take the retail price of the Lumia 900, which as of April 2012 is $450, Nokia and Microsoft earn $233 for of each Lumia 900 sold. Of course, this doesn’t include additional expenses like software, royalties, licensing, taxes etc

Nokia 700,701,603 reciving Belle FP1 update

Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 update (v 112.010.1404) is now available for the Nokia 700, 701 and 603. We updated our Nokia 603 and felt it faster than before. Nokia announced the Belle FP1 update last month that brings Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus support, 20 new home screen widgets and refreshed multitasking bar. It also increases the processor speed of Nokia 700 and 701 from 1GHz to 1.3GHz.



The browser has been updated to version 8.2 which is faster and has HTML 5 support. It also has the latest version of the Nokia Maps.
